For my senior thesis I created Hotel Moody, a concept that combined my love for traveling, and music. Hotel Moody is a boutique hotel in Asheville, North Carolina that combines community and culture through hospitality and live events for travelers and locals alike.

Hotel Moody is inspired by Asheville’s past of famous musicians and music history going back to the old-time string bands, and bluegrass roots of the Appalachian area in the 1700s. Among those famous musicians is Clyde Moody, known as one of the founders of American bluegrass and an Asheville Native.

Creating an opportunity for travelers to be immersed in a new location and be surrounded by people who have similar interests, Hotel Moody combines the desire for a unique travel experience while having immediate access to live events and a sense of community away from home. This was accomplished through collateral including signage, merchandise, stationery and social media curation.
